Let it go Nancy!

"Pelosi Open to Prosecution of Bush Administration Officials"

According to Fox News, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is receptive to the idea of prosecuting some Bush administration officials, while letting others who are accused of misdeeds leave office without prosecution, she told Chris Wallace in an interview on "FOX News Sunday."

President-elect Barack Obama has not closed off the possibility of prosecutions, but hinted he does not favor them.

Nancy, give it up.

  1. Alow me to be devil's advocate: laws were broken. And the breaking of those laws have NOT made us safer; rather, they have endangered us, and worse, have changed our image in the eyes of many of our allies. Maybe this isn't important compared to the task of protecting us. Maybe not.

The way to figure this out is to set up a sort of Truth and Reconciliation committee. We need to know the what happened for real, what threats were really faced, and what effect breaking the law had on the threats. I oppose prosecution of laws against the Pres., and support immunity for those who tell the truth. But we need to understand, as a nation, what the costs/benefits were in throwing out the Geneva conventions. This is serious shit and needs to be addressed.
